Nestled in the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur at Platinum Walk, Tengyu Abdulrahman Restaurant is a culinary sanctuary for lovers of authentic Chinese Muslim cuisine, with a special emphasis on the rich and vibrant flavors from the XiAn region. This relatively new gem, opened just six months ago, has quickly captured the attention of discerning foodies seeking a genuine taste experience that stands apart from the typical Sichuan-heavy offerings often found in the city.
What sets Tengyu Abdulrahman apart is its unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity. The chefs masterfully blend traditional XiAn spices and cooking methods with ingredients sourced exclusively from trusted suppliers in New Zealand and Australia, ensuring each bite bursts with freshness and depth. The lamb dishes are nothing short of legendary here—whether it’s the lamb fried rice or the perfectly grilled lamb skewers, each mouthful is an explosion of tender, smoky, and savory notes that transport you straight to the street stalls of Ürümqi.
Equally captivating are their large, juicy dumplings—like the chicken mushroom variant that has won hearts for its delightfully sour broth and generous fillings. At just RM 10, it’s a steal for a comforting, soulful dish that lingers long after the last bite. The menu offers a thoughtfully curated selection, ensuring there’s something for every palate, whether you're craving the hearty flavors of lamb or the nuanced, fresh qualities of their fish dishes.
The dining atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a clean, well-kept environment that reviewers have praised for its pleasant ambience and considerate touches, such as a small surau for prayer and complimentary cold drinks, enhancing the overall experience. This thoughtful approach reflects the owners’ dedication not just to food, but to customer comfort and cultural respect.
Service here matches the quality of the cuisine—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making every visit feel special. Regular diners appreciate how the restaurant balances an upscale feel with accessibility, even if the price point leans toward the premium side. As one guest puts it, the excellence of the food makes every ringgit worth it.
For food lovers craving an authentic Chinese Muslim dining experience that goes beyond the typical spicy mala fare, Tengyu Abdulrahman Restaurant is a revelation. It’s more than a meal; it’s a bridge to a vibrant culinary culture, brought alive with passion, precision, and heart. Whether it’s your first visit or a repeat indulgence, this place promises an immersive journey into the true tastes of XiAn and beyond. Do not miss it.

Literally so gooooood. The lamb fried is to die for, only 38 for the M portion we got. The owners are Chinese Muslim. All of the food is authentic Chinese, they even said they only use high quality meats from NZ and Australia. The atmosphere is nice, cold free drinks as well. There’s a small surau as well. Will be back 10/10.

I've tried many Chinese Muslim restaurant. Mostly serving spicy and mala style, more of Sichuan style but this restaurant is different. It is based more on XiAn taste and yet, it is very suited to our Malaysian Chinese taste bud. The food is exceptional where it's not easy to find some of their dishes in other restaurants. So far, this is the best Chinese Muslim restaurant I've been to.. The dumplings is good! I'm a dumpling lover and I hunt for dumplings. This restaurant serves one of the best I had so far. Portion are large... Don't order so many dishes if you come in one or two person, else, you'll contribute to food waste.

Honestly, if you’re the type of person who likes to eat sour food then this is the place for you. I bought the Chicken mushroom dumpling and dare I say this, it’s one of the most delicious dumpling that I’ve ever eaten. The soup is delightfully sour and the dumpling portions are huge. Additionally it’s only priced at RM 10.

What a hidden gem! As someone who’s actually travelled through China’s majestic Xinjiang region, I can confidently say—this is the real deal. Tengyu doesn’t just serve food; it serves memories. From the very first bite, we knew we were in for something special. The lamb skewers were grilled by a specialist chef and tasted exactly like the ones I had on the streets of Ürümqi—charred edges, juicy centre, and that unmistakable cumin aroma dancing through the air. Then came the lamb rack. Tender, succulent, and made even better with their addictive cumin spice dip—my taste buds threw a party. But it’s not just the food that left an impression. The owner, hailing from China, was the embodiment of hospitality—warm, welcoming, and generous to a fault. He even gifted us a complimentary dish, which speaks volumes about the spirit of the place. The space itself? Bright, airy, and super comfortable. There’s free-flow cordials, and the sauce station? Let’s just say, we could’ve spent 10 minutes taste-testing condiments alone. Everything packed full of punchy, bold flavours. We genuinely considered returning the next day for lunch—if it weren’t for our train schedule, we would’ve. Five stars across the board. Tengyu has carved a place in our hearts (and stomachs). Can’t wait to come back.
